Bayside Osteo: Why we love what we do

We sat down with each of our talented osteopaths to ask them about their career, and what their favourite part about practicing osteopathy is. From Areni’s travels in India to Brian’s teaching career at Victoria University, our practitioners have a diverse range of skills and experiences.

Khali:
As well as being a caring and experienced osteopath, our Khali is also an avid talker (as we’re sure all of her lovely patients know!) Khali knew she would be happiest working in a profession where she was not only helping people, but also in a position where she could spend the time educating and guiding people. Khali is also the mum of two young boys who have enough energy between them for an entire kindergarten! She really enjoys treating toddlers and babies, as well as pregnant mums.

Brian:
As well as working as a practitioner, Brian is also passionate about educating others about osteopathy – did you know he spent 15 years teaching Osteopaths at Victoria University? He lectured a variety of subjects including Osteopathic technique, Ergonomics and Clinical Orthopaedics. He was also involved as a research supervisor in over 50 Osteopathic research studies!

Jade:
Jade’s interest in Osteopathy comes from being treated many times herself – we suppose once you’ve experienced the benefits of Osteopathy it’s quite easy to become fascinated with it! This experience has given Jade a particular interest in treating headaches and neck pain, as well as treating patients of all ages.

Areni:
Areni was part of a trip to India during her undergraduate studies, where she undertook placement in an Orthopaedic hospital alongside other osteopaths, physiotherapists, and orthopaedic surgeons. She feels that placement in India gave her a great deal of experience with a diverse range of conditions, and has helped to shape the way she approaches and treats patients.

Brooke:
One of Brooke’s favourite parts about being an osteopath is getting to talk to new people each half hour! She loves hearing people’s stories, so next time you are treated by Brooke, definitely catch her up with the latest. Brooke especially enjoys treating patients with acute sporting injuries, neurological conditions, and lower back problems.

Kate:
Kate has just recently joined our clinic this week, and we are very excited to have her here at Bayside Osteo Clinic! Kate owned and ran her own practice in South Yarra for many years, and brings a great deal of experience with her. Some special interests of Kate’s include cranial osteopathy, pregnancy, and treating babies and children (although she is experienced in treating patients of any age!).

To book in with any of our osteopaths, ring reception on 5977 0466 and one of our friendly team members would love to help you.
